Marc Bolan signs to the Decca record on Monday August 9th 1965. This promo copy of The Wizard was the first time a bolan penned song was made available to the pop music listeners of the time. Both the tracks on the single were recorded at the Decca Studios Broadhurst Gardens in London on Tuesday 14th of September 1965. The music was provided by the studio session musicians with backing vocals from The Ladybirds. The stock copy hit the shops on Friday 19th of November 1965.
